A post about nothing

Fiery sunset pic that I took at a school parking lot this past week

Welcome to episode #20 after a couple of weeks away from my latest hobby. This post is almost pointless. It's contentless with lots of noise and very little signal so I was going to title it "No soup for you!" or "Let me see your license".

First up, welcome to two new people.

Welcome Charlotte from Louisiana and Richard from the Netherlands. Thanks for subscribing!

Here in the Toronto area the temperature has been cooling down significantly. This summer we had many blistering hot days, many forest fire induced bad weather days, and more recently cool breezy days.

Where have I been? I've been busy trying to figure out what to do for our wedding anniversary and for my wife's milestone birthday.

This morning, I woke up ready to write about Planner's Portfolio feature which I've been playing with a bit at work. I went in to access one of my plans and got this message:

No Project subscription found

My Planner premium plan trial license ended a little while ago, but I was still able to access my plans. Now I can see them listed but I cannot access them. In a week or so I won't even see them. That means I will lose the plans for Krusty Krab II, oh no! ... Just kidding, no big deal.

The big deal is the cost to subscribe to the service which is $40.70 CAD per month so I will press pause while I look at cheaper options.

The title of this section is like those ads on bus stop benches selling advertising that says "Don't read me". That said, one of you might find it interesting.

I've been reading about Microsoft Entra service at work this past week, specifically as it relates to Single Sign On (SSO). So, it was fun this morning to learn out the steps required to delete my test MS 365 tenant.

Deleting a tenant isn't that easy! You first need to unsubscribe from everything, remove the users, delete registrations, and more. I was looking for the "easy button" but no such thing.

I did everything I could and I'm still not able to delete the tenant due to one subscription. Guess which one.

The Planner and Project Plan 3 Trial subscription is causing me grief. Even though it's expired and I disabled it, there's no option for me to delete it.

My thinking was I could setup another trial tenant. Oh well, I will wait for a few days.

Looking ahead

So, no real Planner content this week only a note to let you know that I'm alive. Oh yeah, none of you reached out to see if I was alive 🤔. I can excuse my sister who is on Signal though, the rest of you not so much 😂.

My next post may be a few weeks out when the birthday planning subsides and I figure out my license situation. In the meantime, good luck to those of you with little kids heading back to school and I hope you have a great week(s) ahead.

Otto.
